What is FreeCell?

FreeCell is a classic solitaire card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Cards are dealt face-up into 8 cascades (columns), and your goal is to move all cards to 4 foundation piles — building each suit from Ace to King.

What makes FreeCell unique is that nearly every deal is solvable. Unlike traditional solitaire, the outcome depends on strategy, not luck. You have 4 free cells for temporary storage and can move ordered sequences between cascades.

FreeCell Tips

Keep free cells empty whenever possible — they are your most valuable resource for rearranging cards.
Try to empty a cascade column early. Empty columns act like extra free cells for moving sequences.
Move Aces and low cards to foundations as soon as you can. They never need to come back.
Plan several moves ahead. Sometimes it is better to delay a foundation move to keep a cascade flexible.
Avoid moving cards to free cells unless you have a clear plan to retrieve them.
When stuck, look for cards blocking the most cascades and focus on freeing them first.
