What is Daily Hitori?
Hitori is a Japanese logic puzzle played on a square grid of numbers. Your goal is to decide which cells to shade black and which to keep white so that every row and column has unique numbers among its white cells.
Each day brings a fixed grid seeded by the date — the same puzzle for every player. Higher difficulty days use larger boards, following the same weekly rhythm as our other daily puzzles.

Hitori Tips
✓If two identical numbers appear in the same row or column with no other copies between them, one must be black.
✓A white cell sandwiched between two black cells on the same row or column is often forced — check connectivity.
✓Mark confirmed white cells early; duplicate whites in a row or column show up as errors immediately.
✓Watch for black cells that would split white cells into separate groups — connectivity rules out many placements.
✓On harder days, scan diagonals and corners first — edge cells have fewer neighbors and resolve faster.
